Position Objective
The Deputy Principal (Secondary) fosters an engaging, inclusive, and student‑centered environment aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum and Cambridge Learner Attributes — developing learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged learners
The role provides strategic, academic, and pastoral leadership across the secondary school, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, student wellbeing, and program coherence consistent with UIA’s guiding statements.
Provide day‑to‑day leadership of the Secondary School in alignment with school policies, Cambridge expectations, and safeguarding requirements. Lead and support secondary teachers in curriculum planning, assessment, instruction, and professional growth. Oversee student behavior expectations with a restorative approach to ensure a positive learning culture.
Support whole‑school strategic initiatives, accreditation processes, and community engagement; serve as Acting Secondary Principal when required.
Key Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Assist in curriculum planning, development, and implementation; strengthen alignment to Cambridge standards and best practices.
- Promote integration of educational technology and digital tools for learning (e.g., Cambridge platforms, FARIA, Google Workspace).
- Maintain current subject allocation where applicable to remain classroom‑connected.
- The position will have a teaching role dependent on the candidates experience
Student Welfare, Behavior, and Pastoral Care
- Promote a positive school culture; uphold behavior policies and restorative processes.
- Oversee advisory, wellbeing, and safeguarding programs aligned with the Cambridge Learner Attributes.
- Monitor student progress and lead interventions for academic, behavioral, and emotional concerns; mentor students in goal‑setting and pathways.
- Engage with parents regarding progress and concerns; collaborate closely with pastoral teams and counselors.

Terms of Employment
- Working Hours: 08:15 to 16:30
- Probation Period: 3 months
- Referee request: 3 referees (including direct conversation)
- Background Check: current country (if applicable)
