🟦Position Objective
The Japanese language teacher is tasked with planning, delivering, and teaching lessons that align with the Cambridge curriculum to students between Grades 1-10. The teacher will establish an environment that fosters learning and growth through the Japanese language while instilling the learner attributes of confidence, responsibility, engagement, reflectiveness, and innovation.
🟦Responsibilities
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Create and execute effective lesson plans based on the Cambridge curriculum.
- Create and develop a comprehensive curriculum guide/framework based on the Cambridge curriculum.
- Practice effective classroom management.
- Utilize effective assessments.
- Plan, design, and provide necessary support to students based on their individual needs.
- Consistently monitor student behaviour, well-being, and progress.
- Supervise students and practise effective duty of care.
- Communicate and collaborate with team members.
- Maintain consistent communication with students and parents.
- Build positive relations between all parties within the school.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate and assist with committee assignments.
- Fulfill additional school duties and roles (e.g., bus duty, dispersal duty, etc.).
🟦Working Environment
- 8:15-16:30 (Full time)
Salary – Negotiable based on qualifications, experience, and education.
Staff will be supported by subject appropriate professional development.
- Monday to Friday
- National Holidays
- 3-week Summer vacation
- 3-week Winter vacation
- 10-day Annual paid holiday
🟦Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field from an established and accredited university.
- University degree in education (bachelors or masters) or an active teaching licence.
Additional preferred skills:
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other related software.
Associated responsibilities:
- Supervising the children at break/lunch and other unstructured times.
- Ensuring that the children are safe and secure at all times.
- Communicating regularly and positively with parents via timely meetings, class webs, reports and conferences.
General:
- To teach any classes as deemed necessary.
- To provide any other reasonable duties delegated by the School Management.
