At UIA, we wholeheartedly believe that choosing the right school is a process as unique as you are. We tailor our Admissions experience to the unique needs of your family, and it is our pleasure to share what UIA can offer to your child.

If you have any questions, pleas feel free to contact our Admissions Office at admissions@uia.jp If you wish to arrange a school tour, we would be delighted to show you around and schedule an explanatory meeting at Kiba campus.
To do so, we request you to fill in our school tour form/registration of interest available on OpenApply here. You can mention on this form 3 possible dates for appointment. The school is open for visitors from 9AM to 3PM (Monday-Friday).

An overview about our school mission, philosophy, and curriculum will be given during your visit to school. The school tour is free of charge.

The next step of admission is the assessment. The assessment will be conducted by the academic team. A prior appointment is mandatory for an assessment. An assessment can be planned on the same day as the school visit or on a different day. Please note that on the day of the assessment, we will require you to bring along any one of the completed Admissions Application Form in English or Japanese, all the documents mentioned on Section 8 and an application fee of ¥11,000 (non-refundable).

Following the tour and in-school assessment, student documents will be verified by our admissions team. Provided that all documents have been submitted on time, the results of the in-school assessment will be sent to parents via email within 5 working days.

Acknowledgement of the acceptance by the parent within 7 business days followed by payment of the initial invoice will secure the admission.

If any information provided to the school during admission process, is found to be falsified, then the school reserves the right to cancel the admission and initiate separation process.

Student Acceptance

Applicant must be comply under the following conditions:

  • Vacancy seats in applying grade.
  • Meet the requirement in Class Placement.
  • All necessary documents have been submitted. (mentioned on Admissions Handbook 4.1)
  • Must have valid visa (for foreign residents)
  • For Kindergarten, applicant will sit for One-day trial class then will be assess and evaluated.
  • Graders applicants are evaluated with a written test.

Student Acceptance Decision

The evaluation results is determined by Academic Team. The Head of Section, Principal and Admissions Officer.

Note: The decision from the Academic is final, and not open for negotiations.

Admissions Checklist

Applicant must be submit the following documents:

✅Dully filled Online Application Form

Proof of Date of Birth (copy of Birth Certificate or valid Passport)

Copy of applicant and parent’s residence cards (in case of Japanese Nationals: Copy of parent’s passport)

Copy of applicant’s Insurance card

Admissions Application Fee (11,000 – to be submitted by cash on the assessment day; exact change to be rendered. Non-refundable)

Student Health History Form (provided by UIA)

Copy of previous 2 years report cards (applications for Grade 2 and above)

Letter of recommendation from current teacher

Transfer/Leaving certificate from applicant’s previous school (can be provided after the admission is confirmed)

Kindergarten students: a health check certificate, issued within 4 months before joining (provided by UIA)

Medical report (if any medical history exist the school should aware of)

If you cannot be reached to give your consent to emergency procedures, you hereby give your permission for UIA International school of Tokyo to seek medical treatment for my child in case of injury or illness, which occurs while participating in school-sponsored activities. 
 
This will be used only if we cannot contact you directly at the time of injury or illness.

Daily Schedule

SOCIAL MEDIA

I hereby agree to permit UIA International School of Tokyo to take photographs of my child during school activities for the purpose of educating students, promoting the school, or promoting public education. The school may publish photographs of my child and/or samples of work done by my child in a variety of ways. The publications could include, but are not limited to, school newsletters (online and in hard copy), UIA International School of Tokyo’s Internet and Intranet websites, content-sharing websites such as Facebook or YouTube, annual school magazines and local newspapers. Published photographs and work will be viewable by third parties.

We agree to the following:

      1. The school may publish photographs of my child and samples of my child’s work as many times as it needs in the ways mentioned above.

      2. The child’s photograph may be reproduced either in color or in black and white.

      3. The school will not use my child’s photograph or samples of my child’s work for any purpose other than for the education of students or for the general promotion of public education and the school.

Any photographs taken by the school will be kept for no longer than is necessary for the above-mentioned purposes and will be stored and disposed of securely. Whilst every effort will be made to protect the identity of my child, UIA International School of Tokyo cannot guarantee that my child will not be able to be identified from the photograph or work.

BUS INFORMATION

Parents are not allowed inside the school buses.

For Kindergarten students, parents/legal guardians MUST be at the bus stop wearing the lanyard for pick-up and drop.

If a parent/guardian is not present at the bus stop at the scheduled time for the bus arrival, the student cannot get off the bus. We will wait for 1 minute and try to contact parents. After that, we will bring the child back to Kiba campus.

Parents/Guardians will be notified and are required to visit the Kiba campus to pick up their child. In such a scenario, a penalty will be charged to the parents at the hourly rate of ¥11,000.

UIA will consider adding a new stop for students from Kindergarten to Grade 2 in the area of the existing routes.

The school bus may arrive earlier or later than the scheduled time, depending on traffic conditions. If the bus arrives early, they will wait until the scheduled departure time. If the bus does not arrive at the bus stop within 20 minutes after the scheduled arrival time, please contact 080-1187-9407.

Parents should report to the 3F to drop off or pick up their child.

If you want to cancel the bus service for the day, kindly inform us well in advance

INVOICE INFORMATION

Payment will need to be made within five business days of the invoice being dispatched.

Please kindly note that once the payment is made, no refund will be provided.

The two-weeks discount is only applicable for parents enrolling for Week 1 + Week 2 at the time of application. In case a student adds Week 2 after enrolling in Week 1, the two-weeks discount will not be applicable.

Please note that the final deadline of payment is July 8, 2024 by 3PM

Enrollment will be automatically cancelled after those dates if payment has not been made.
