UIA International successfully hosted the Tokyo Winter History Bee and Bowl

UIA International successfully hosted the Tokyo Winter History Bee and Bowl competition on January 13, showcasing the academic prowess of participating schools. The event saw enthusiastic involvement and participation from six schools across Tokyo in the History Bowl and seven in the History Bee.
Noteworthy is that six middle school students from UIA secured a spot in the Asia Championships for the History Bee. Notably, 8th grader Akshaya Vootkuri, the club secretary, displayed outstanding performance by securing the third position in the middle school division. Joining her just off the podium were notable achievers: 7th grader
Rishan (Adam) Irshad in fourth place, Tanush Das in fifth, Julie Watanabe in sixth, and Havish Mandhadi in seventh.
Furthermore, UIA International’s Tokyo Winter Bowl competition not only showcased the academic prowess of its students but also witnessed intense participation from prominent schools. Among the participating History Bowl schools were Nile C. Kinnick High School, St. Mary’s International School, KAIS International School, Saint Maur International School, and the Indian International School in Japan.
In the Varsity division of the History Bowl, St. Mary’s International School claimed the top spot, with Nile C. Kinnick High School secured the runner-up position.
The Junior Varsity division saw St. Mary’s once again dominating, followed by Saint Maur International School in second place and UIA International in a commendable third place.
The Middle School Bowl results added another layer of achievement, with the Indian International School in Japan securing the first position. UIA International’s teams displayed excellence, with UIA E earning the second-place plaque and UIA D securing the third position.
This comprehensive event not only celebrated the accomplishments of individual students but also highlighted the collective dedication and academic strength of participating schools in the realm of history education. The diverse range of schools and their remarkable performances added depth and significance to the first Tokyo Winter History Bee and Bowl competition for 2024, hosted by UIA.
